It's with great pleasure that I can confirm that the successful M&S Xmas commercial featuring the SONY BMG recording 'The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year' by Andy Williams has been nominated for the Music Week Awards 2008 Music Sync of the Year.
As you can imagine we're chuffed to bits and would like to thank our friends at JWM and Soundlounge for working with us to make this happen. This was a rather unique synch campaign as Steve Sidwell produced a whole new backing track to Any Williams' original vocal. Not only was a 30 second version made for the TV commercial but a 3 minute version was also created and was subsequently released as a single.
We're now confident we can go all the way with this one and can't wait for award night!
That's all for now.

So here we are, only a few working weeks until Xmas and the hits keep on rolling in! Not only is Leona’s single still at number one but so is her album! It’s also the fastest selling debut album in history! You just can’t get away from SONY BMG music at the moment (not that you’d want to, of course). A glance on the telly between programmes ensures you’ll see a commercial with one of our master recordings in it. In addition to the commercials featuring the Mariah Carey and Perry Como tracks as mentioned in our last post, ‘Spinning Wheel’ by Blood, Sweat & Tears features in the T-Mobile campaign and the pièce de résistance has to be the re-working of ‘The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year’ by Andy Williams in the M&S ad. And this is just scratching the surface. For the M&S commercial they were able to take the original vocal performance by Andy Williams and build a totally new backing track around it – what they can do these days, eh? The video is embedded here and if you’d like to hear the audio track on it’s own, please click below.
Right, that’s enough for the time being. We know you’re busy people and can’t spend all day ready this blog, can you? Back to work with you!
Until next time…
